Greenholm Farms (PlanET Biogas Solutions)

For the last two weeks, Greenholm Farms in Embro has been powering approximately 200 homes in and around Woodstock with renewable energy produced from manure and other organic wastes. Gord and Dave Green, the owners of Greenholm Farms, have expanded their farm so that they now produce, in addition to high quality milk and field crops, clean, renewable energy for sale back to Hydro One. An anaerobic digester (or biogas system) installed at their farm is now converting their dairy manure and other organic waste streams into biogas which is used to produce electricity and heat for local homes and buildings.
